First Annual ROCP Awards Nominations

Hey everyone! Merry Christmas! Welcome to the First Annual Rants Of A Crazy Person (ROCP) Awards *insert applause here*. Basically, I take all the movies I’ve seen this year (list to follow) and pick my favorites of all the performances, quality of movies, etc. Some awards are practical (Best Actor, etc), and some awards are spoilery (Most Tearjerking scene).

The Moment That Ruined An Otherwise Good Movie

  • Anne Hathway’s character dying in, One Day

The Moment That Saved An Otherwise Bad Movie

  • Kato posing as Green Hornet pretending to shoot Britt to explain his bullet wound, The Green Hornet
  • Claire using the wire to figure out the planet is hurling towards Earth, Melancholia.
  • Teresa Palmer’s Performance, I Am Number Four
  • Winter, that damn dolphin, A Dolphin’s Tale

Most Tearful Moment

  • Adam (Joseph Gordon Levitt) panicking and asking for his mommy as he’s about to go under, 50/50
  • The look on Charlie’s (Hugh Jackman) face as he boxes using Atom, Real Steel
  • Anne Hathaway’s death, One Day
  • Realizing I just spent $17 to watch a crappy movie in IMAX, I Am Number Four
  • Tolson (Armie Hammer) crying over J. Edgar, J. Edgar
  • Aiblieen (Viola Davis) saying goodbye to the little girl she cared for after being fired, The Help.

Best Movie Moment

  • The first 5 minutes of Drive where Driver (Ryan Gosling) drove a get-a-way car were AMAZING.
  • Harry, Ron, and Hermonie joining their friends and family back at Hogwarts, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2
  • Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) climbing up, then back down, the tallest building in the world, in IMAX. Mission Impossible 4
  • Minnie talking about/describing how she “made” the chocolate cream pie, The Help
  • Kermit and The Muppets walking through the doors being welcomed by the huge crowd, The Muppets
  • A bad guy throwing a helpless kid into the water to distract the now buff Steve Rodgers. And the kid telling Steve he could swim, Captain America.

Well there they are! Those are my nominees! Am I missing anything? Who would you vote based on my choices? Am I wrong about anything.
